What is Kenyan Pilau?

Ingredients

- 2 tbsp Tropical Heat Pilau Masala
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 3 cups beef stock or water
- Salt to taste

Instructions
- Heat the Cowboy Cooking Oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the beef and cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in the sliced onions and cook until deep golden brown.
- Add the garlic and ginger and cook for about 1 minute.
- Stir in the Tropical Heat Pilau Masala and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomato and cook until softened.
- Add the Pishori Rice and stir to coat each grain with the spices.
- Pour in the beef stock and season with salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until the rice is cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
- Remove from the heat and let the pilau rest for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve warm.
